Bio : My Biography

Hi!  My name is Sherry Wade.  My bachelor's and master's degrees from Indiana University Southeast are in elementary education and I have an endorsement in social studies.  I have been the second grade teacher at Sacred Heart School since 1991.  Before coming to Sacred Heart, I taught one year in eighth grade at St. Mary's in New Albany. 

Besides teaching the curriculum and standards associated with second grade, I am also involved in helping these children prepare for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.

I enjoy the imagination and energy of young children.  When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with family that includes my two grandchildren.

Gardening is another high interest activity of mine and I share this with the children at Sacred Heart by facilitating with Mrs. Betty Walter in an after-school program called Nature Team.  In this extra-curriculum program, children help to maintain the children's school garden and learn about many different facets of nature. 

I encourage good communication between home and school and look forward to working with your children this year.
