Hello! My name is Kim Schumann, and I started teaching in 2014. I grew up in New Albany and went to Our Lady of Perpetual Help for K-8 and Providence High School for 9-12. I enjoyed growing up in a close Catholic community, so it means a lot to me now to be teaching in one. I continued my education at Ball State University, getting a Bachelors of General Studies. After college I spent my time as a personal trainer, where I found a love for the human body. This sent me into Massage Therapy School. I practiced as a massage therapist for about 8 years. I knew something was missing in my life, and I finally realized that I wanted to teach. I went back to school at IUS and completed their Transition to Teaching Program. I am so happy being a teacher, and I know I have now picked the career that will make me happy for the rest of my life. My life has continues to change for the better as I get older. I went back to school, graduated, found a wonderful teaching job, and got married in May 2015. I look forward to this new career path and the changes in my life. God, my students, coworkers, family, friends, and my husband have all played such a positive role in my life and I consider myself to be very blessed.
